LIFT-ASSISTED SLEDDING – OUR NEW THRILLING WINTER ACTIVITY
Lift-assisted sledding can be enjoyed on the Äkäslompolo side of the resort.
The sledding track is located on the 480-meter-long Family Slope/Perherinne 2, which is exclusively reserved and modified for lift-assisted sledding.
The special sleds used for lift sledding are equipped with handles and brakes, and they are designed so that the sled can be attached to the ski lift during the uphill ride.
Lift-assisted sledding begins at the Äkäslompolo main station, Y1 rental, where you can purchase a sled rental ticket, receive a helmet, and get necessary instructions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LIFT-ASSISTED SLEDDING
I already have a valid lift ticket. Can I use it for lift-assisted sledding?
-Lift-assisted sledding always requires a specific sled rental ticket, which includes the rental of the sled and helmet.
Can I use my own sled on the track?
-For safety reasons, only sleds rented from Y1 rental specifically for this purpose are allowed on the track.
Why are children under 12 not allowed on the track? Can a child ride with an adult?
-The sled used for lift-assisted sledding is quite heavy and must be controlled in various situations: while descending, braking, and when getting on or off the lift. Therefore, there is an age limit for sledding. The sleds are designed for one rider at a time, so unfortunately, a child cannot ride with an adult.
How do I know when I can go sledding?
-Lift-assisted sledding is available when the Family Slope 2/ Perherinne 2 (slope number 53) is open, i.e., daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The opening hours will be extended later in the spring.
